Halloween 2 Trailer
This trailer really stands out to me as the previous "Halloween" i thought, was very good. What makes this a good trailer is how the first section establishes where the setting is and how the characters are linked. The fast cuts emphasise how breath-taking this movie is and the low angles show how the main character is dominant. After the establishing scene we cut to a series of jump cuts which shows the female protagonist getting, to what looks like, stabbed. We then immediately cut to her being rushed into hospital where everything starts haunting her and especially the murderer. Throughout the trailer we see him popping up and chasing her until the tension builds up at the end with a vast range of quick paced direct cuts and then onto the titles. One thing that does make this horror movie trailer work is how the transitions between the scenes and faded out and then appearing out of nowhere. This really emphasises the danger and the adrenaline of it all. This trailer fulfils the expectations as a horror trailer/movie as the genre is easy to determine and conventions of the horror genre have been used.
